How to ACTUALLY get Long Lashes with Mascara
In today's post, I’m sharing how to get your lashes to be long and separated! If you’d rather watch than read along, here’s a link to my Youtube video. Before we start, here’s one my biggest secrets: I don't always just use one mascara — so keep reading (or watching) to learn more!
#1 Shower Right Before You Put On Mascara
My number one tip for getting your lashes to be separated is to do your eyelashes shortly after you shower. I don't know what it is which makes it different from washing my face and showering but after I shower my lashes seem to separate more! It just makes it way easier to apply mascara.
#2 Curl Your Lashes With An Eyelash Curler
Using an eyelash curler in the beginning really helps to separate the lashes. I like to curl my lashes three to four times while making sure I take time to hold the curler for a few moments each time. Try curling your lashes before applying mascara and you’ll notice the world of a difference it will make for you.
#3 Use Two Different Mascaras
I know I have my holy grail mascaras BUT I find that I still need to use two mascaras to make my lashes POP. When I use just one, - usually with the Essence Lash Princess- I can get my lashes just right BUT if I really really want my lashes to POP I will go in with two.
For the longest time my go-to mascaras were the Essence Lash Princess and the Too Faced Better Than Sex. That combo would give me amazing lashes. Recently, I just came across this new combo that i'm obsessed with and it is the L'oreal Telescopic with the L'oreal Air Volume. Now I've done two separate mascara reviews on both of these go check it out and i'm going to tell you guys now why I think you need both.
Why Two Mascaras Work Better Than One
Using two mascaras allows you to do more with your lashes than just using one mascara (i.e. lengthening, volume, separating, etc). For example, with the L’oreal Telescopic Mascara, the brush is so small and fine. That makes it perfect for separating small lashes without adding clumps so you can really work the product in separate your lashes. This gets them nice and long and just beautiful. so it's hard to find a mascara with a brush like this that can really still add product separate and elongate your lashes so this is like totally if you have crazy lashes that are just intertwining and you want that separated look try this out
After you separate and lengthen your lashes with L’oreal Telescopic, use L’oreal Air Volume to add a nice volume to your lashes. I like this one because it makes your lashes dark and extra black. The Air Volume mascara is also a wetter formula and a blacker formula than the Telescopic. That's what is actually going to give your lashes that boldness you desire.
Do I Really Need to Buy Two Different Mascaras?
A lot of people are will often ask, “Why buy two separate mascaras? Why not just buy a high-end mascara instead?”.
I find that often times just one high-end mascara can't always do the job when it comes to long separated BOLD lashes. I personally just feel more confident in my mascara routine when I’m like bouncing back and forth between two mascaras.
Usually when I use these mascara tips on my lashes, people will ask me “what lashes I'm wearing'?” And you bet I love to smile back and simply say, “mine.”
