January 2019 Income Report
Greeting friends!
It’s a new month which means new goals and new milestones to hit! Before planning the attack for the month of February, I thought it would be nice to reflect on my January side hustle income streams. This is something new for me. If you follow other bloggers, you may be a familiar with the monthly income report. What this “report” or blog post is, is an outline of all the money a blogger has made from their blog by using various income sources.
I have decided to implement this routine into my blog this year. I would like to do this until I see that the income from this blog (and other online ventures) can replace my full-time job income. This will be a very REAL eye-opener for me seeing as though I’m pretty much in the beginning phases of making money from my blog. I am happy to report that I do have a few other online money making ventures that are starting to make more of a regular income but nothing to replace my regular salary at this moment. This will be a fun and challenging journey to say the least but I am ready to embark upon this digital career journey.
So, enough chit chat let’s talk about the $$$$.
My Current Side Hustles:
Mercari:
When it comes to online closet sales, I have been relying on Mercari to make most of my sales nowadays. In the past I would use Poshmark, Depop, and Mercari to rev up my closet sales but truth be told, I have just been lazy. With that being said, It’s kind of eye-opening to see that my “lazy” efforts brought in $75 worth of cash this month. I made $75 by selling 4 items from my closet. Listen to me when I say this if you want to make more money and you have not started selling your clothes on apps you are missing out on REAL money. YouTube:
Ah, YouTube my problem side hustle child. YouTube is the side hustle that takes the most time and gives back the least amount of $$ for me right now. For the past 3 months, my monthly income on YouTube has been around $30-$40 PER MONTH. Yes, you read that right, PER MONTH. Granted that I have not been putting out enough content consistently to up that number, but still it can be very discouraging to keep trying. Lucky for me my goal on YouTube isn’t solely just to make money. If you know about how YouTube pays content creators then you know that you will receive payment 1x a month every time your ad sense account reaches the $100 threshold. In January, I finally met that threshold. My goal this year is to meet this threshold every.single.month. Eeek, challenging!!
Sponsored Posts:
Sponsored posts are another goal of mine to increase this year. These opportunities are fun and actually a lot of work! But I enjoy them very much because it’s such a unique way of combining getting paid to do what you love.
Affiliate Marketing:
Lastly, affiliate marketing is another income stream that I am working on developing this year. Getting the affiliate marketing income stream to flow has been a bit of a challenge for me but I am not giving up! My goal is go through all my content that is currently out and add affiliate links to all of them.
HOW MUCH I MADE IN JANUARY?
Mercari: $75.25
YouTube: $114.96 ($42.80 made in the month of January but $114.96) was the amount paid out)
Sponsored Post: $75
Affiliate Marketing: $0
Total: $265.21
*technically $193.05 made but $265.21 available due to Google payout from YouTube.
And that was it from January! Slow start to the year but still a start! Creating new streams of venue for yourself is challenging and almost feels pointless when the money isn’t rolling in as much as you initially thought it would. I am confident if I consistently stick with it, I will be able to replace my full-time salary with my online income streams.
Until next time my loves!
